This statue is real. This is not photoshopped. This horror is a 75' tall product of the World Overcomers Outreach Ministries Church. They have a website about the ''Status of Liberation Through Christ". They have erected this obscenity in Memphis, TN, against the objections of people in the town who have to see this thing every day.

hmmm...if enough people object to it can't they have it taken down?...I'm all for religious freedom but if the town doesnt want it thats pushing it...the statue of liberty was a gift from france as a memorial to our independence...if the church really wanted to do good they could stop trying to collect money because it will "please gOd" if you give wealth to the church and blow it on such stupid things...
Why does this bother you so much? Did they use government funds to pay for it (and thus make other people pay for their religious beliefs)?
I'll admit I think the statue is ugly, but people do have a right to express their own personal beliefs. The statue appears to be on that church's property and produced with that church's money.
I've noticed that you seem to object a lot when someone displays Chrisian symbols-I remember you being pretty snarky one time when you were giving me a ride and we drove by some place that had a massive cross. Would, say, a similar statue where Allah (not Jesus) was talked about, with a veiled lady holding out a Koran, upset ou as much?
And of course by Judeo-Christian values, they really mean whacked-out-bizarre-barely-Christian values that Jesus wouldn't even recognize.
